What is ASSO ?
ASSO (Association des Stomisés du Sud-Ouest - South-West Ostomates Association) was founded in 1981 and is the only regional organisation in Toulouse dedicated to handling Ostomate individuals.
It is governed by the 1901 law, with a non-profit making objective. It has been acknowledged to be of public interest. It is also eligible for patronage status.

ASSO is part of the USGS (Union des Stomisés du Grand Sud - Union of Great South Ostomates) recently created at the “Living with an ostomy” congress, Avignon, on May 3rd and 4th 2019.
It brings together people who have had a surgical intervention of either intestinal or urinary tract by-pass.
ASSO has several objectives
The future ostomate with his/her new condition, in accordance with the medical team, surgeon, general practitioner, stoma therapist or nurse, psychologist.
Accompagny
Psychological support to ostomates so that they avoid feeling isolated, and assist them in regaining a great family, social and professional life.
Provide
Patient therapeutic education (PTE) and medical research.
Promote
Inform
On socio-medical problems of ostomates.
Exchanges between similar associations.
Develop
The Association
Organises meetings between ostomate (digestive or urinary) individuals and ostomate-contacts.
Ostomate-contact : this is someone who is ostomate and a member of the association, who followed a specific training program in order to visit patients at home or in health establishments, on either medical staff or patient request during the pre operative period.
The welcoming, well-being, support and training of estimate individuals is our main concern.
